Concert: Devendra Banhart

“It was totally worth it.” That’s the summary I can give after last nights concert of Devendra Banhart at Rockefeller.

A kind of weird, strange experience, slightly different from what I’ve seen so far on stage. My expectations where more focused on the early songs he wrote, but what I got was something totally different. A calm and quite start in the beginning, then speeding up more and more (passing Seahorse somewhere in the middle), stepping left and right into songs of some band-members, crossing a mid-80’s cover (sorry, I forgot which song it was), and ending in a fulminate ending after more than 1.5 hours playtime. I can recommend visiting his concerts.
