Patrick Watson/The great escape

Patrick Watson, The great Escape

I takes a moment until I put some new music into my collection. Usually I have to hear it at least for a month or so. To get an idea, a feeling or a simple mood for it. But sometimes it’s getting quite fast and I don’t have to think much longer about it.

This is actually the case with Patrick Watson This Canadian singer/songwriter made it very quick into my collection. I’ve made my way through two albums so far: Wooden Arms (2009) and Close to Paradise (2006). Of course some songs stick more out than other, but in general there seems nothing wrong with these albums. If Damien Rice, Conor Oberst or Kings of Convenience aren’t unknown to you, than you know where to look for Patrick Watson.

I know that not everybody shares my taste of music then it comes to the smaller, more exciting and controversial music categories.  That’s OK for me. But maybe here you should listen to me and give it a try. Though you might find some songs you don’t like I’m pretty sure there will be at least one or two you’re gonna fall in love with….
