Beirut/The rip tide

Beirut/The rip tide

There’s a new album from Beirut. No, not the city, the music-group. I know them now about two years, but haven’t written about them yet. One of their songs of the old albums is still tightly bound to winter and everything that comes along with it. At least for me.

On the new album already the first songs states out pretty clear that they haven’t changed their style a lot.

But it’s not necessary either. With that high density of sounds and acoustics you can get pretty far and playing a lot of different music without actually leaving you comfort zone, I guess. But I find it a bit more ordered, less chaotic and more melodic as the previous albums.  So now there’s another jewel in my CD collection, being played up and down for a while and ending up on my constant playlist, for sure (at least I hope so).
