Birdy/Birdy

Birdy/Birdy

This should have been published last week, but I wanted to give it one more week to mature.

Birdy showed up on the horizon earlier this year with her cover version of Skinny Love. I liked that one a bit better than the original one and it made me curious what else there might be…

Though the name birdy might sound a bit cheesy (and probably is), the album is quite OK. You get a healthy mix of vocals and piano, as other have done before as well. The album is filled with cover songs, interpretations of well-known artists without slaughtering and ripping them into pieces.

Birdy will remind you a bit of Sia. And I wouldn’t be surprise if in a couple of years she’s heading into the same direction.

This is music for the cold winter evenings, when you’re alone at home. Sia as well…
