Dr. Strangelove

I just finished the 1964 movie Dr. Strangelove - How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the bomb. Though the term “Dr. Strangelove” was always present - I unwillingly have to admit that I never watched the movie until today.

This was fine with me until a couple of minutes ago when I finished the last scene. Though in black and white (still it’s 1964), the plot is interesting, catching and funny enough to keep me in the seat.

All acting take place either in the War room, where some senior government staff is trying to prevent the next nuclear war, on board of a b-52 bomber that is essentially on its way to nuke some target in soviet Russia or on the (locked) office of a us base general, who ordered the whole show by exceeding his authority endlessly in order to finally finish the “commie”. Hard to say which of those three I enjoyed most. All three of them are quite entertaining and often even more absurd.

I will keep this movie in mind and will come back to it in a couple of years.
